We’ll celebrate and honor those who are serving or have served, in our Armed Forces and come together to raise awareness and funds to increase housing opportunities for military veterans and the low-to-moderate income families. We are a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership and financial capabilities of underserved low-to-moderate income and military veteran communities.
Our Accomplishments
As a community-based, HUD-approved housing counseling agency, we served over 1000 families in FY2025 and more than 22,000 households, since our 2002 inception.
• Provided homebuyer education to over 6,500 households; 5,200 of which purchased their first home
• Improved the financial capabilities of over 10,000 people by providing financial literacy education
• Facilitated the sustainment of over $700,000,000 in tax revenue by assisting over 3,500 homeowners with foreclosure prevention and loss mitigation counseling.

Susan Dewey has served as Virginia Housing’s Chief Executive Officer since being appointed by the Board of Commissioners in 1999. She has a proven history of mentorship to others in the minority housing industry.
