Woodbridge, VA – November 15, 2022 – Another episode of Rock Your Block aired at the end of October. Hosted by First Home Alliance (FHA) President and Founder Larry Laws, this episode focused on Erica Wogan. She is a Mortgage Loan Originator with Motion Mortgage, whose goal is to provide home loans to their clients while offering them with the lowest interest rates and closing costs possible. Much like FHA, Motion Mortgage is dedicated to helping clients overcome the numerous roadblocks that arise on the path to home ownership.
Laws and Wogan started their conversation by discussing herself and her family. Talking about her first job and how a favorite aunt helped influence her decision to become a Mortgage Loan Originator. They also talked about some of the daily tasks her job entails. For those unfamiliar with the title, a Mortgage Loan Originator is very similar to a Mortgage Loan Office (MLO) but differs from a Mortgage Broker. The primary difference is that Brokers are employed by a Sponsoring Broker, while MLO’s are employed directly by a bank or mortgage company.
Next the two discussed the importance of community engagement and ways that Wogan gives back to the communities in which she lives and works. One primary focus of her efforts is in providing education to first-time homebuyers, a responsibility she takes very seriously and a drive clearly close to the mission of First Home Alliance.
The next topic of their conversation was travel. Wogan shared why she initially began to travel and its importance to a broader world-view and understanding the value of diversity. To that end, they talked about the benefits she hopes travel may have on her young son and where her family may be headed next.
