Woodbridge, VA – November 14, 2022 – First Home Alliance (FHA) Founder and President Larry Laws is honored to announce some of the sponsors for this year’s Annual Financial Wellness Symposium and Awards Gala. This event brings together community leaders and first-time home buyers for a day of community collaboration, financial education, and empowerment. The Gala also operates as the organization’s primary fundraiser for the year and provides resources to implement their primary mission to increase housing opportunities for low-to-moderate income and military veteran families. With this vital mission in mind, it is with special gratitude that FHA thanks this year’s Title Sponsor TRUIST.
Funding has provided the organization with the ability to offer emergency preparedness, homeless prevention, rental assistance, fair housing and first-time homebuyer education and counseling to over 6000 households. Then 3000 of those were able to purchase their first home. The organization has also improved the financial health capabilities of over 9000 people by providing financial literacy education. They have also facilitated the sustainment of over $525,000,000 in tax revenue by assisting over 3000 homeowners with foreclosure prevention and loss mitigation counseling. Some of this is possible through grants but primarily possibly through this annual fundraising gala.

The evening will be a celebratory event which begins at 6:00pm with a VIP Networking Reception and Silent Auction. The Awards Gala will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the party will have a Christmas theme, to highlight the beginning of this year’s holidays and “Season of Giving.” There will be a plated dinner served and FHA will present local community members the following awards: Alliance Partner of the Year Award, Alliance Leadership Award, and the Alliance Community Achievement Award. Some of this year’s home success stories will be featured with live in-person testimonials.
The band X-Factor will provide the evening’s live entertainment and the event will be hosted by Larry Laws, along with Sharrarne Morton (of Morton Media.) More than 100 business leaders, philanthropists, and community organizers have attended our annual awards dinner and fundraising events. Please join in the fun and come party with a purpose.
Earlier in the day participants will be empowered by motivational speakers and industry experts during our Financial Wellness Symposium which begin at 9:00 a.m. The symposium is a community benefit that consists of a full day of collaboration, education and empowerment designed to raise awareness, improve financial health and physical well-being.
